or if you just go by how the games seem to take place the same year they are released, maybe RE6 is 2012.
ok so, there are rumors there will be 3 campaigns total which tell different aspects of the same story. rumors floating around are so far (and how i hope it'll work):
--WESKER, 1 player (lets face it, he's apparently near omnipotent so he'll be revived. his campaign will be just him and you'll get to use his insane powers, possibly with some kind of upgrade system in lieu of a traditional inventory. gameplay for him might be akin to what they are using for Asura's Wrath, i.e. fast paced and more focus on hand to hand with some ranged thrown in.)
--LEON, 1-2 player (this would be more like RE1 and 2, more emphasis on puzzle solving and scarce ammo, but still using the same 3rd person view like the modern RE games. as for his partner, Ashley might show up for a bit but i doubt she'll be there long. co-op player could be Claire, Ada, maybe a lesser known character but likely not. i dont think it'll be Chris because...)
--CHRIS, 1-4 or possibly 6 player (i think Chris will have his own campaign, itll be at least 4, maybe even 6 player co-op, and the other players will play as other BSAA members such as Sheva, Jill, etc. i think they'll want to have the BSAA in there somewhere, so a team based campaign would fit great. this one would be action oriented, with maybe some emphasis on puzzles. ammo would be more plentiful and you would be dealing with far more dangerous enemies than Leon's.)
each campaign could be 7-10 hours, giving a nice reasonably long total time. they could also throw in some multiplayer stuff like Mercenaries or whatever as well. i really want to see them doing something like that.
now, being Capcom, they may very well just make some lame cop out and not go to all that trouble, just make a sequel to RE5, meaning 2 player co-op only and just throw in a few other characters. or they might put all the campaigns on the disc and make you pay to unlock them all with a DLC code.
