For so long the stumbling block on Pro Evolution Soccer's road to authenticity, the lack of official team licenses and player names has dogged Konami's otherwise superb footballing masterclass.

Konami is once again pushing to improve in that area with confirmation of a whole host of new national and international additions.

Konami has today announced that the upcoming Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 title will include more officially licensed teams and players than ever before seen in the franchise, reports CVG. Brazil, Portugal, Greece, Scotland and Ireland are among the new international teams whose squads will arrive with real names intact.

The selection of licensed club teams has also been expanded, now featuring the likes of (deep breath) Newcastle United, Tottenham Hotspur, RSC Anderlecht, HJK Helsinki, IFK Gotenberg, Panathinaikos, Spartak Moscow, Fenerbahce, NK Dinamo Zagreb and FC Basel.

Although it is nice to see more licensed club and international teams - the game really needs more licenses for Premier League clubs!
