In what started from a Tweet, Mojang star developer Markus "Notch" Persson and Tim Schafer, head of Double Fine Productions, are talking about the former helping the latter to finally create Psychonauts 2.

"Later, Notch himself confirmed that he and Schafer were chatting.

'Me and @TimOfLegend are talking to each other via email, and he’s cool with me saying whatever I want about it,' he wrote once again on his Twitter account. 'He’s, like, super awesome.'"

How does having Minecraft as a credential make Notch a worthy producer for Psychonauts 2? As popular as Minecraft is, it's really a pretty simple game in terms of game mechanics. In fact, it's actually pretty bland if you're not intending on spending hours upon hours just making stuff.

It's not that he worked on Minecraft that makes him a good producer, it's that he has piles and piles and piles of money he's willing to throw at Double Fine and is offering them total creative freedom.
