Warhawk Sells Over 100,000 Copies

Warhawk, the online game that have gamers pushing to get into servers on their Playstation 3's, has sold just over 110,000 copies in the first week. This makes it one of the fastest selling games on the console, but then again, there hasn't been many mind blowing games for the PS3.

Many in the gaming world saw this as a test for the digital distribution market. And from early returns, most would say it was a success. As of early this week, moret han 100,000 people had registered with the “Warhawk” network, making it the fastest-selling game to date on the PlayStation 3.

    Not really that impressive. Both Bioshock and Metroid Prime 3both sold over 400,000 in their first week.

      Consider the amount of people that own a 360 compared to the amount of people that own a PS3.

      It's *bleep*ing absurd to expect a PS3 game to sell 400,000 in the first week when you look at how the install base is less than half of the other consoles.

    Yeah but this is just the downloadable version right? And they still haven't released it in the UK and PAL territories

      "100,000 People had registered with the “Warhawk” network" This obviously includes Blu-ray buyers.

      Metroid Prime 3 isn't out in PAL territories till October.

    Hmmmm.... I'm not really into this game but I guess it's good news for Sony and Warhawk. Just wait till MGS4 is released. I bet the sales will go through the roof!

    Wow! So many copies sold? The game doesnt look that great for me, but i guess i was wrong?

    The game still has many faults and let downs that need fixing but 100000 is a lot.
    Let's not forget that this is INDEED 100000 people. Unlike Metroid Prime Warhawk can only be played by a single account. One person could buy Metroid Prime and let his 5 mates borrow it however with the Warhawk Download only the person that downloaded it could play it online.
