Seems that there may be a delay coming for Unreal Tournament 3 as Mark Rein made the rounds in the Unreal Tournament forums stating that while the release is set for November, things change and that it is not guaranteed.

According to a forum posting by Mark Rein himself, Unreal Tournament may not come out in November as thought. It looks like they are shooting for November, but it is not set in stone. The exact quote from the Unreal Forums over at Epic Games says the following:

"We do not know exactly when the game will be completed. All we've said is that we're hoping for a November release but as you know we value getting it right over getting it right now so there's no guarantee of that."

For all this time, I was certain that Unreal Tournament was coming out in November for PS3 and the PC. There was never any mention of a delay until today, so I have to wonder if they are running into some of the issues with the engine that other companies have mentioned, or if this is just damage control for the inevitable delay of the title that many online gamers have been waiting to play. It would be funny if it gets delayed til the 360 version comes out, but I don't see it being pushed back that far.

By the sounds of their quote, they're saying if it is delayed, it'll be because of them wanting to make the game better than it would be if they pushed for a November release, which if it is the case, isn't a major problem in my eyes.

I'd prefer to wait a bit longer for a great game than get it earlier and have it be sub par in comparison to a longer wait.

Exactly So i see this as great news if there needs to be some tweaks to be fixed.
Still its just speculations right now.

If the delay is for good purposes, then go on.

The public has waited this long, a delay for adjustments isn't going to kill most, although they could go ahead and release the PC version anyway since it's going to see a handful of patches right away regardless.

It's better to delay it than to release them with bugs or some general inconsistencies. Each day that passes, Unreal Tournament 3 is turning better not only bug-wise but also gameplay/beta testing-wise.
