Beat Bioshock already? Wondering if there might be a sequel? Well we got a rumor for you. Chief Executive Officer Ben Feder of Take Two Interactive has hinted that more BioShock titles will appear in the future.

The recently released financial results from Take Two Interactive for the third quarter of the company’s fiscal year report, held a wealth of revelations. The most noteworthy was this quote from Chief Executive Officer Ben Feder: “Our creative teams are delivering a strong and increasingly diverse product portfolio, including our successful new BioShock franchise.”

Now that makes me think, ‘BioShock franchise.’ First off you only call something a franchise if you are going to make more than one. Therefore, we can assume a sequel is more than likely in the works. Again this is just speculation so don’t hold us to this. Second, the report also showed that over 1.5 million units of the game have been shipped worldwide which is astonishing success for a new game or franchise without any prior back ground.

Like we said BioShock 2 hasn’t been listed as part of 2K Games line-up yet, if it will be. This means that the potential release will not be arriving before some substantial time passes. Bearing in mind the amount of time and effort involved in creating a top notch game like Bioshock, it would be more reasonable assume 2009 for a release.
