Logitech is extending their gaming hardware productline on Wedneday by releasing a cordless headset and keyboard which will both support the Bluetooth enabled within the Playstation 3. The headset will allow users to chat in-game and during chat sessions while the "Mediaboard" will be for Messaging, Internet and managing Multiple Accounts. The Mediaboard will also offer a menu for the circle, square, X and triangle buttons from the PS3 controller and also have a touch pad for mouse like actions. They are both expected to arrive in October for the Mediaboard and November (US) and December for Europe, both valued at $79,99.
Logitech extended its line of gamer-oriented hardware peripherals on Wednesday with the release of a cordless headset and keyboard especially for the PlayStation 3. The Cordless Vantage Headset and Cordless MediaBoard Pro both use a Bluetooth interface with native PS3 support for easier initial setup.
The Cordless Vantage Headset lets gamers chat it up with teammates and the competition both in-game and during voice chat sessions. Logitech claims its large-diameter audio drivers provide premium audio playback, and its noise-canceling microphone cuts down on background noise. A flip of the headband lets gamers wear it on either ear to extend comfort during long sessions, and the rechargeable battery should last about 12 hours of use.
Logitech’s Cordless MediaBoard Pro is intending for setting up profiles, entering Web addresses, managing multiple accounts and sending text messages more quickly. Unlike generic Bluetooth keyboard, the MediaBoard has a handful of PS3-specific features like a dedicated menu button and circle, square, X and triangle buttons from the conventional PS3 controller. A built-in touchpad also eliminates the need for a mouse. Two AA batteries should provide 200 hours of use.
The Cordless Vantage Headset will hit U.S. store shelves in November for $79.99, and reach Europe by December. The MediaBoard Pro will come out simultaneously on both sides of the pond in October, also for $79.99.
