Xbox 360 Is Uncool According To British People

xsynergyx | September 13, 2007 | News | XBOX 360 Company
CoolBrands has pulled together a survey that asked 2,000 young people in Britian and TheCoolBrandsCouncil to list their top favourite coolest brands. Unfortunately, the Xbox 360 did not make the top 20 list, but Nintendo and PlayStations brands did. Is the Xbox 360 slowly fading out or do the British just not like Microsoft?
The Xbox brand did make the long-list - a group of 500 brands from which the top twenty was picked. But it obviously wasn't nearly cool enough to oust chocolate maker Green & Black's or e-tailer Amazon from the list of the top twenty coolest. Expect a flaming forum war to erupt any time soon...

I'd say because unlike Amercia the British have no reason to like the 360. In the USA people like it because it is a local company

[sarcasm]Yes its fading for sure lol , and they don't like it[/sarcasm]

Well just like in Japan and Australia they don't like the system for whatever reason, just because you make a system doesn't mean the whole world is going to like it, People have there preferences, and opinions on the systems. Though Fact those places will hurt MS sales for 360, and they aren't the majority of the population, in Britain.

Since when did polls that poll such a small number matter?

Obviously a ton of British people like it or they wouldn't be on my Xbox live.

The 360 isn't uber popular in the UK just like the Xbox wasn't, so despite being such a small number asked i would say it is pretty accurate, it is the reason the 360 probably won't sell more 25 million units in its life time since most of Europe aren't huge fans, Japan aren't, America is the dominant region i think about 9 million of the supposed 11 million are from American customers.

It's not that it's not popular over here, it's just obviously there are much less UK'ers than say US'ers. So it's a pretty unfair thing to say that it's not popular over here.

USA get's most of the market for the 360 solely because there are about 60 million UK residents against about 300 million US residents. So it's a 1:5 ratio, so if the 9m/11m are sold to the USA then it makes sense why that is.

many people may HAVE it, but it doesn't mean that popular conception of it is COOL. It's understandable with the bad Rep Microsoft has received over the years. ANd to add on top of that, the pain of the eternal red rings. Microsoft has never been big on the style... they've just been big on... getting Bigger.
Sony on the other hand, there's even "sony style" and slick cd players and walkmen and other electrical products they've been stylizing for a long time. Nintendo is nostalgiac and attracts a lot of kids and family now.. pretty cool.
Microsoft? . . talk about lawsuits and censorship and bad corporate practice... and remember the first BOX? A big black brick with a green puddle in the middle...
    you get the picture

They should use more then 2000 people, probably spread across Britain more. I'm surprised it didn't even make in the top 20.

Agreed. They should probably made it to around, 10000 people? XBox 360 should at least get into the top 10!
