Hon Hai precision to deliver PS3 consoles to Sony

Hon Hai Precision Industry Co., Ltd, one of the biggest electronic manufacturing service (EMS)has signed with Sony to produce low priced PS3. And with this will be Cheap SKU's that could lower the PS3 price some time soon.

And with this set a goal of shipments of 10 million ps3 in the first quarter of 08. That will bring fierce competition Globally between the three consoles.

Hon Hai Precision Industry Co., Ltd., one of the world's largest manufacturers on electronic manufacturing service (EMS) basis, recently joined Sony's supply chain to deliver Play Station 3 (PS3) consoles, according to industry sources.

The sources noted that Sony has set a shipment goal of 10 million PS3 consoles for the first quarter of 2008.
This means fierce competition in the global market for game consoles and will lead to a boom in the sector making consumer electronics.

    Im assuming its going to happen in a month or too, cause then the holiday season is around the corner and with the selling of some of Sony shares we could see a possible $399 PS3 89 sometime easrly in 08. Very great news for sony.

    But I have a question...what will this do to Quality Control?

    PS3s are pretty well known to be reliable, especially when compared to the X-Box 360 console...Will changing to a different production company potentially effect the quality of each system? Will they be, say, more prone to mechanical defects and/or overheating?

    Or will they (more or less) be exactly the same as current PS3s?

    One would assume (hope anyhow), that they are implementing strict Quality Controls, but you never know...

      Well its more of cheaper materials than from China so im assuming its going to be the same as the current ones.

      And yes Sub we could see a price cut as early as next month or late november.

        Hon Hai already mass produce graphics cards, PC's, cell phones and they mass produce the PS2 already, this is really great news.

    From by all the signs and the amount of sales a price drop at christmas would produce it looks like it
