We were lucky enough to get a hold of the full set list for the upcoming Guitar Hero 3. The list is broken down by stages, and includes all encore and co-op encores.
To be honest, some of the bands in the extras section are foreign to me beyond Dragonforce and Lacuna Coil. But the set list is solid top to bottom and I like the way the difficulty looks to escalate all the way to the top where we get probably the hardest song of the bunch in Metallica's "One" Hit the jump to see the full listing.

But can anyone tell me how you'd play the Devil Goes Down To Georgia? Do we play the guitar like a fiddle?
I'm a little disappointed in the lack of Bad Religion this time around. They had a cover of Infected on the original, but that's it. Still no Black Flag? They have some of the most unique, robust, distinctive guitar riffs I know of, especially since they didn't have a bass guitarist for a while so the guitarist (Greg Ginn) simulated the sound of both with just one guitar.
Other bands I wanted, such as the Circle Jerks, really didn't stand a chance, but the above bands would have made great choices. The other songs, I don't know much of.
@ Gogetenks, the way I see it: the Guitar Hero franchise looks for the most original and most complex songs in music. Punk rock is amazing, fantastic and fun to listen to, but most of the guitar work is simple. Social Distortion is an exception, because they pretty much have a guitar solo in every song. And Gallows is different also, because they don't just rely on the power chord style of punk music. You'll see this on "In the Belly of a Shark". (On expert I expect that to be a bitch to play.)
I understand most punk bands not being there, although Bad Religion has been there before. Just a little disappointed they aren't this time around.
Ah, I missed a few good bands. Social Distortion is great, AFI is quite good and I liked the Iron Maiden and AFI songs I've heard before. Most of the other bands, I don't know too much about. I knew most of my favourite bands would be there, but I guess Tony Hawk has spoiled me with Bad Brains, Bad Religion, Rise Against, Circle Jerks, Black Flag and all the other bands I listen to a lot, even though it has nothing to do with playing music like Guitar Hero is. Something just feels great when you play a song you really like. Then again, I could just play it on my guitar.
The thing I think is most interesting is that there is no band name by "The Devil Went Down To Georgia". Will it be the classic Charlie Daniels Band version, or a new guitar centered remix?
Its either fake or not complete.
I mean with Muse, Queens of the Stone Age, Metallica, how could you go wrong? You even have music from Eric Johnson from Cliffs Of Dover which if anyones heard the song knows it's going to be *bleep*ing crazy, not to mention fun.
I smell bullshit.
