Sony says no to price cut "no surpirse", but yes to Software!!

Well it seems that the price cut we were hoping for has been shot down(not really a surprise), however worldwide boss Kaz Hirai stated that such a move is very possible in the future. But then states that software(Game library)is the main issue at this moment.

Could this mean after they increase their Library, a price cut will follow? We can only hope so.
As has been widely anticipated, Sony has failed to confirm a PlayStation 3 price cut for 2007 during its Tokyo Game Show keynote speech this morning, with worldwide boss Kaz Hirai saying only that such a move is a "possibility" for the future.

There will be "no surprise in this regard this year," said Hirai, referring to last year's TGS PS3 price announcement.

"Price is a very important aspect, but at the same time the urgent matter is to what extent we can further enrich the software titles," he said.

PlayStation 3 is the most expensive 'next-gen' console on the market, retailing at a suggested GBP 425 in Europe and USD 599 in the US.

I really don't believe much of what Sony announces anymore, if they shoot some rumour down they usually do it in a few months anyway

That means if you read that they said no to a price cut cause the gaming library is more of a need at this current time. Which is better for us gamers.

$1000 dollars is to much for a game console and Sony hasn't reliesed yet that there would be more sales if they directed more of there time to price-cuts other than Software nobodys going to get!

The people in charge things now aren't people that wanted to be there. They were put there after Kutaragi resigned, and as businessmen, they would likely rather see PS3 operations shut down to an extent where it's cost to the company will decreate to the point where profit margins begin to rise again. The crap they spout from their mouths won't reflect the gamer community much, and down the line they'll be forced to make decisions they weren't too keen on making.
