Microsoft is really setting the bar, expecting Halo 3, possibly one of the most anticipated games from the Xbox 360, to hit $300 million. This number is more than double of what Halo 2 got, but with all the pre-orders and midnight openings just for the game, it could very well meet Microsoft's expectations.

More than 42,000 pre-orders have been lodged for the M-rated game in Australia, which will retail at $99.95 for the standard edition.

Even though it is the finale of Halo, they shouldn't get too cocky.

Also didn't anyone remember the article saying Halo 3 will get 4 million in 2 weeks. I don't agree with this article but i think anything is possible.

I agree with you, however Its not cockiness to them its confidence.

If they are basing it off of all games they are shipping to stores and pre-orders than it should be pretty accurate.
