Games We Love but Wish We Could Love Playing

During the Tokyo Game Show, Gamespy were lucky enough to get their hands on Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core ... and they were impressed with the results! Impressed enough to give a VERY positive preview of the game, as well as going as far as to say that the vastly popular Monster Hunter 2 Freedom "seems near average compared to Crisis Core."
So will Crisis Core live up the the hype? We will have to wait and see ...
If this year's Square Enix party was any indication, Japanese gamers are clamoring for a remake of Final Fantasy VII as much as anyone else, but unfortunately that hasn't come to fruition just yet. In the meantime, the company has seen fit to release a series of games that have more to do with the events before and after Final Fantasy VII than during it. Crisis Core is the newest part of the "compliation," and tells the story of Zack before he felt the cold steel of Sephiroth's blade.
In case you've been restricting yourself from watching too many movies or reading too many previews of Crisis Core -- in which case, why are you reading this? -- the graphics are simply beautiful, and surpass even the mightiest PSP game. Yes, even games like Monster Hunter 2 Freedom, which is widely regarded as the best showcase of the PSP's power, seems near average compared to Crisis Core.
There's a lot of mixing between real-time graphics and rendered cutscenes though, especially during battles. Against some of the biggest monsters like Ifrit and Bahamut, the action will change from real time to rendered whenever they pull out their Limit Break attacks. Some gamers might like this, while there are going to be others that don't want it. Thankfully, after the first Limit Break, you can skip the sequence if they manage to pull off another one. Too bad you can't do the same with the other cut scenes in the game. As impressive as they are, sometimes time is short and the last thing you want to do is go through a five-minute cut scene to find a place to save.
Square Enix haven't announced a release date for Crisis Core in the US, but it'd be crazy not to release it over here.

I have to disagree with the title I know its good but you can't possible think it can surpass the mightiest PSP game, what about Chains of Olympus, that game is said to be a killer title and using and pushing the PSP to its limits.
also, mhf2 is a really great game, i doubt this will make it look 'average'. we're talking about a game that pushed a huge spike of psp sales by itself in japan. that itself is quite a feat.
Crisis Core is the reason that 77,777 PSP consoles were sold in one day, (With the release of the CC limited edition PSP). It's also been the main driving force behind PSP sales in Japan for the last three weeks.
