Rumor smashed: Final Fantasy XIII is a 'PS3 exclusive'

For anyone that might have doubts on whether or not Final Fantasy 13 would be PS3 only or Jump Multi, well the Rumor has been shot down. Square Closed Mega Theater has just Confirmed that FFXIII is a PS3 only.

During my foray to the Square Enix Closed Mega Theater presentation, I saw the Final Fantasy XIII trailer and at the end the words "For PS3 Only" flashed on to the screen. At first I thought maybe the wording was due to translation but it also seemed like it could have been a definitive. PS3 ONLY! The same phrase was also present at the end of the Final Fantasy XIII Versus trailer. So there you are, according to the trailers Final Fantasy XIII is a confirmed PS3 ONLY title.

    ... Or did you just want to show people that its in writing now ?

      There were rumors of it jumping multi(basically 360 fanboys like MGS4) so this will make them shut up.

    No kiddin' The fact that FF13 is looking to pretty much max a 50Gb Blu-Ray is one thing, another is that they are using the PS3's processing cores for graphics tasks also the 360 cannot do this and its GPU is not powerful enough to run this game single handedly... They could have FF13 but it would be unrecognisable to the PS3 version.

    The "White Engine" or whatever it is, is designed to take advantage of Cell's power...thusly, it wouldn't work, seeing as it is designed around the PS3's architecture, not the 360's...

    Just knowing that, and you'd know it is exclusive to the PS3...

    So...I've known about that, ever since I heard about the White engine (though I SUPPOSE they could design a whole other engine for a 360 version, but that would require a lot of work, to make it convert well)...

    Not only is this old news, but the way you set the title it almost made it seem like the rumor that "FF13 being exclusive" was smashed. Nice going.

      Um read it again and you can clearly see i stated FF13 'PS3 exclusive' which means its an exclusive and any rumors stating it going multi has been smashed. Its actually not, look at the link. It was pretty recent.

        You fool, you don't get it. I say again, stop thumbing down shit you don't understand.

        By use of the colon in your title you are saying that anything you say after "Rumor Smashed" is the rumor that is being smashed.

        So you are saying "Rumor Smashed" then the ":" means "whatever follows this colon is the rumor you're talking about" then you have "Final Fantasy XIII is a PS3 exclusive." Which means that the rumor of Final Fantasy XIII being a PS3 exclusive is being smashed and thus FFXIII isn't actually a PS3 exclusive, even though this is old news and everyone already knew that it was.

        Instead you should have had "Rumor Smashed: Final Fantasy XIII isn't a PS3 Exclusive."

        Altogether you should have avoided it and simply put, "Final Fantasy XIII PS3 Exclusive Confirmed" or "Reaffirmed" thus avoiding any confusion.

    I was planning to buy either an Xbox 360 or PS3 when I saw this article. After reading this article, I've finally decided to buy the PS3.

    This title almost made me think that FFXIII was being ported to the 360.

    Pick them more carefully.

    Same as Unknown Warrior, I got worried there. I really can't wait for this game, and I don't wanna buy an Xbox for it, as there's nothing that interests me on an Xbox.
