Halo 3 Drives Xbox 360 Sales Past Wii & PS3 At Retailer!

One week before the Halo 3 release the Xbox 360 was ranked at position 7 at Amazon's computer and videogames division. After the release of Halo 3 the Xbox 360 moved up the ranks and now at 5th place leaving the Wii at 7th and PS3 at 9th place.

Pre-order and launch sales for Halo 3 on Tues. have driven Microsoft Corp.'s Xbox 360 past competitors at retailer Amazon.com. On Tues., the Xbox 360 Premium SKU ranked at No. 5 at Amazon's Computer & Video Games division, an increase from a rank of No. 7 the week prior.

By comparison, Nintendo Co.'s Wii ranked at No. 7 and the 60GB PS3 ranked at No. 9 on Tues. morning.

    It's really no surprise that it's all due to Halo 3. And that number will more than likely rise even more, because of the friend trees people have. Or word of mouth.

    This actually does surprise me. I figured most people who were waiting for Halo already had a 360, since just about any Halo fan had an XBOX. I don't fit in this group though.
