Halo 3 earned more money first 24 hours of release than any other form of entertainment(music, movies, books, video games, etc.) making over $170 million on first day and that is just in the United States. Beating records set before it by "Spider-Man 3" and "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows"

Days before Halo 3's launch, analysts had predicted within the first week of release, Halo 3 could net in over $200 million. And that has officially been proven an understatement as that has apparently been achieved first day adding the $170 million in US sales to the sales made in the 36 other countries Halo 3 was also released.

Halo 3 continues to break numerous records across the board. It is expected by the end of the Christmas shopping season, Halo 3 would sell over 6 million copies.

We all knew Halo 3 was gonna sell big... but how big? Apparently, $170 million... in the US only! That's right, it made more than that worldwide.

Hasn't it already sold about 3 million copies. I heard that. If that's true that's awesome.

And embarrasing for Resistance and Motorstorm.

What was the point of bringing up Motorstorm and Resistance?

Indeed. How can it be embarrassing for two new IPs to be beaten in sales by an established and overhyped FPS series?

Because those two IPs had just as much hype.

Are you *bleep*ing kidding me? They had hype, but to compare their hype to the Halo series' is just laughable.

Halo costs more than $60. Movie tickets cost 8 bucks, on average. I would think that would measure in somewhere with the numbers.

This was kinda expected from everyone, seeing that his game was long awaited by millions of Halo fan/fanboys.

    Wow... well, good for Bungie.

I'd like to try out Resistance sometime... but only after someone gives me $560. For the console and the game.
