Lucas Confirmed For Super Smash Bros. Brawl!

Lucas, the star of the Japanese only game Mother 3, has been confirmed to be a newcomer fighter to the Brawl roster as revealed today on the Smash Bros. Dojo.

The Dojo updated this morning with an update sure to please Mother/Earthbound fans. Sakurai confirmed that Lucas, the star of the Japanese-only Mother 3, will be joining the Brawl roster. Perhaps this exposure of the character will help Mother 3 release well in the US, so could a release date not be far off? But what about the fans of Ness? Chances of him returning are sort of slim now, but it’s still possible as Sakurai even teases on the issue in his post.

Marth and Roy in SSBM helped herald the coming of Fire Emblem to North America. Does this mean Mother/Earthbound 3... no surely that is a pipe dream at this point. Still nice to see HAL keeps the Mother spirit alive, but WHERE'S NESS?!?

  Why would you care if HAL kept the Earthbound/Mother spirit alive....? HAL isn't making SSBB. Sora LTD. is.
  
  But yeah. If Sakura doesn't put Ness in Brawl, then it'll nice to see he is willing to switch things up. If he does put Ness in Brawl with Lucas, then it's nice to see that there will be a wide assortment of characters.

sakurai did hint at something about ness, though were not sure if that was hinting that he would return or not. i have a feeling they will keep him in, afterall being so classic from the first two smash games. it would make sense to have a lucas sidekick as a second earthbound character, but having two earthbound stars would also be awesome.
and yea, this will most likely get mother 3 released here in the states. only problem is that mother 3 is for GBA which is pretty much dead here... they could either port it to the ds, or use some clever marketing to market it like a DS game, and ever give it a ds-like box, but still making it a gba game.

Ergh, where's mah Ness . I'm serious who cares about Lucas >>. Well I guess Lucas will be my Ness replacement if Ness doesn't show up =[. They should've just released Ness instead of Lucas. ME WANTZ NESS.

He proboly will be a bad character like Ness in the original game but i hope he will be better because he looks good!

He probably will have Ness, as Lucas isn't the main character.

Hm, his moves will probably be exactly the same as Ness. I've never really been a big fan of Ness, I've only used him once or twice, but I guess I may try Lucas out.

Yeah i didn't really use Ness much either but the only thing that made me play as him 9 times was his ability to control the electricity he shoots out! =D
