UK gamers have been waiting months for this moment and its finally arrived.
Sony has officially announced that on October 10th a 40GB PS3 will be released at the price of £299 (( Around the same price as an Xbox 360 Elite - I know which I would rather have now )).
On a little low note though, this 40GB model will have no backwards compatibility, but this should be no issue for Sony fans who already own a PS2 ...
Also announced was a price cut for the 60 GB model, which will now be priced at £349, which will get you a 60 GB PS3 console, 2 Controllers and 2 first party titles !
Is that good enough for you ??
The much-talked about 40GB PS3 will be hitting UK stores on October 10 for £299, Sony has finally confirmed.
The existing 60GB model will also see its asking price slashed down to £349, which will come with two first-party games.

I'll stick with my Wii. If this was the price at the start, I would of picken the PS3.
If they had compatibility then i'd trade in my PS2 and most of my (unwanted/liked) games and fork over alot of money but sadly i won't... Wii's the only console for me
Sales are probably going to triple after this
Which now means I wont be getting it -_-
Screw having a Ps2, I want to sell it once I have a PS3 >=#
I ain't buying one any time soon, but that's only because I prefer the games on Wii/360. Still, a good deal.
