The BBFC's decision on rejecting the censored Manhunt 2 is a setback for videogames says Rockstar. Rockstar says that adults in the United Kingdom get the choice when it comes to horror in movies and also should get a choice when it comes to horror in video games like Manhunt 2.

We are continuing to appeal the British Board of Film Classification's (BBFC) decision to deny the edited version of Manhunt 2 an 18+ certificate and thereby ban its release in the United Kingdom. The changes necessary in order to publish the game in Britain are unacceptable to us and represent a setback for video games.

Rockstar is right on with that statement. I hope that appeal gets through. My thoughts go out to all the people of the UK.

Honestly, if it's been toned down enough to be released elsewhere, shouldn't they just give it an 18+ rating and let it come out? Any responsible adult should be mature enough to handle the game, and if they want to play it, I don't think the BBFC should stop them.

I think the only reason it's really getting held up is from all the bad press it's getting. If no one had ever heard of Manhunt 2, it would have been cleared a long time ago.

Totally agree with Big Willie. Rockstar has lost many sales due the UK being wiped out.

I completely agree. It just proves that video games are still held on a different level then movies/tv and they shouldn't be.

I can see exactly the same thing happening in Aus.

I don't see how Manhunt 2 should be banned from the UK... it wouldn't corrupt peoples minds to start a gun fight or something! If anything Movies do that.

Video Games arn't scary with Violence, blood and other adult stuff but some MA and R rated movies can scare the shit out of you and has corrupted peoples minds to kill others.

Ban the Movies if you will but not the Video Games!

When has a movie ever caused someone to kill someone else?
