Analyst: GTA IV sales to dwarf those of Halo 3

A leading analyst has predicted that Halo 3's amazing opening week of sales could be surpassed by Rockstar's Grand Theft Auto IV when it finally appears next year.

Halo 3? Oh puh-lease, Bungie’s game is small fry. Or at least, it could look that way by the time Grand Theft Auto IV rolls around next year. That's the view of Janco Partners analyst Mike Hickey, who reckons that the Xbox 360 shooter shouldn't get too comfy on its laurels.

    Well it's kind of a no-brainer considering that GTA:IV is a cross-platform game whereas Halo 3 is not...

    And also GTA's fanbase regardless of now being multiplatform is such as that GTA: SA sold 15 million units on the PS2 alone, Halo has never reached that total and with the game now with a simultanious PS3 and Xbox 360 release it could get half that amount sold in under a week.

    I think GTA IV sales will go through the roof. I reckon it will also blow Halo 3 out of the water.

    The only real question is will it sell more on the 360 than Halo 3 did?

    Saying a cross-platform title will sell more than an exclusive is like me saying "I just did a study and I predict that bread will outsell chocolate cupcakes across the board!"

    Sadly, this is the only thing analysts have to do with their time because outside of big corporations they're pretty much completely useless to the world.

    Well halo 3 is only know to microsoft fans. GTA is know to all video gamers so noe duh GTA will outsell halo3 right away.
