Well, Sonic's in. Character update and movie update. Let the internets rejoice, and the worst-kept secret ever is revealed.

Oh yeah. This is so very sweet.

Mario vs. Sonic? Snake vs. Sonic? Oh lordie lord, the possibilities.

The movie shown at Nintendo's Fall Press Conference 2007 is also posted.

Unfortunately, the release date also changed to TBD.

The one whose Smash appearance has been most desired dashes in from far away at supersonic speed.

    I don't like it, to be honest. Sonic and Mario Olympics was the big hype for the team up and now this will take away from that. Plus the fact that Snake is in it already is big enough. I would have saved Sonic for the next installment.

    The delay is much bigger news, especially considering Japan isn't getting Brawl until late January. At least we'll still have Mario Galaxy to play.

    Yeah, the delay definitely sucks. I won't say absolutely no one could have seen Sonic coming as an official character, but at the same time I think we all had a feeling Nintendo was building up to an eventual announcement. Now how many megaton news does SSBB have left before it is finally released?

    He looks to be harder to control with his speed, and with the addition of Sonic, that should bring us to one more third party character as Sakurai had planned (hopefully there will be more though).

    Sadly, the release date being delayed may cause problems as many people have already pre-ordered Brawl to have ready for Christmas. If it isn't out by then, a lot of people will be angry.

      Yeah, I thought it was still coming in December. Now I see this talk of January in Japan, so how many months will it take to localize everything? Too many is the correct answer.

        Well, they have already shown that the game should be ready in both the Japanese and English language, so if it's coming out in Japan in January, it should be about the same time in North America.

    Meh Sonic I'd never even heard about him before the melee april fools thing. Still the Nintendo Fall Press Conference 2007 Movie is very nice just because of that this was a great update

    It was only a matter of time, really. I thought as Mario and Sonic are doing their olympics game together, that Sonic would eventually make it to Brawl, and he has. I guess it's good news. So many people have wanted him that they even had to make fake shots anyway, all my best characters are speed, so I'll definitely give this guy a go.

    Yes, so Sonic has finally been confirmed for Brawl. Now I have all the more reason to buy a Wii as soon as possible.
