There's a new channel coming to Japanese Wiis next month called Minna no Nintendo Channel, which translates to "Everybody's Nintendo Channel." One of the features of the channel will allow you to download demos and videos of upcoming games for your Nintendo DS using the DS-to-Wii connectivity, rather than having to travel to a game store with a DS download station.

At Nintendo's press briefing in Japan today, the company finally announced a new Wii channel that will allow gamers to download demos for their DS. Called Minna no Nintendo Channel (Everybody's Nintendo Channel), the service will act much like the download kiosks often seen in retail locations like Target and Best Buy -- only now you'll be able to download demos from the comfort of your living room.

This is great. They haven't talked about it in a long time, I was wondering when they were going to talk about this again. I hope this has all of the DS demos, rather than just the ones from the most recent kiosk.

The entire channel looks great, really. Rating games, user reviews, videos, demos and other options that I can't read. It's nice to see a Wii Channel with so much functionality, I plan on using this one frequently.

Thank. The. Lord. I have been anxiously waiting for some news about this, and so I'm really excited. Hopefully other companies utilize it, and it's not just all of the Nintendo games.

Well, Download Stations have many third parties games (and among future ones will be Ninja Gaiden: Dragon Sword and Contra 4!), and this is essentially just a download station through the Wii. I'm assuming third parties will be able to put their games there just like at Download Stations at EB Games and other retailers. I don't see why Nintendo would even want to stop them.

Now Nintendo just needs to make a channel that lets people download Wii demos and videos, and release it somewhere other than Japan.
