MSNBC have just added a article showcasing their top 5 favourite songs in video games. The 5 games are listed in no certain order. So without further a due the five games that made the list are the following:

Ms. Pac-Man
The Legend of Zelda
Final Fantasy VII
Halo
Super Mario Bros

Do you ever find yourself humming a tune from a video game days after you last played it? We do. Some of these melodies are so catchy, they’re memorable years later. And the songs can become icons for the games themselves.

    Wow, for some reason I'm not surprised by the games on the list, except for Halo. Although the original Zelda's music wasn't nearly as catchy as ALttP's music.

      We have a winner. Both I and my girlfriend must have listened to that song around 100 times since I finished portal. A lot of the composers songs are really good to, like creepy doll.

    Well, the Time song from Ocarina of Time is pretty good...And it is used in the end cutscene...

    Dunno much about most of the others, but it makes sense that a Mario song made it on the list...

      This is why there should never be "Top 10" lists ever....I mean, "Ms. Pac Man"?

      Is this what it's come to? decades of music evolution to be beaten by Pac Man?

    Ms Pac-Man? I've never heard it, so how can it be *bleep*ing memorable? The rest of them are memorable all right. Metal Gear Solid should be there. Kingdom Hearts should also be there, with "Sanctuary" and "Simple and Clean".

    Zelda, Final Fantasy and Mario i can understand but not Ms. Pacman! XD I havn't heard Halo's music though so i can't rate it! =D

    I used to be an avid Ms. Pacman fan when I was younger, but I can't remember the music for the life of me. Mustn't have been very memorable. XD

    Halo theme
    Most of the FFVII score (the most memorable is the theme, but the battle musics too maybe)
    DOOM music
    MGS2/3 dramatic music
    MGS1 theme
    Mario
    Kingdom Hearts
