The sequel is set in the United States excluding the first level. Also you will now be able to ride vehicles in multiplayer mode, which should definitely enhance the experience. It also says your able to take three new vehicles to the sky, I'm assuming it means there will be aircraft in this game.

Resistance 2 is looking good and it's speculated to be released in November 2008.

Insomniac Games is indeed developing Resistance: Fall of Man 2 (no, not Rise of Man, as some people have created) tentatively scheduled for release next November. Aside from the first and last level, the game takes place entirely in the United States, where someone who may or may not be Sgt. Nathan Hale (who plays a role in the story) has to deal with the Chimeran invasion of the US in such places as San Francisco and Chicago. And there is a cliffhanger ending that sets up for a third title. Vehicles will be included in multiplayer this time around, one will be able to take to the sky with three new vehicles or boogie it down on the ground with the three vehicles from the first game's Campaign.

    Sounds good!

Especially the vehicles in multiplayer mode.

Lets hope the horrifying pace of the game has been sorted out. I've played a lot of Resistance and I cannot stand the gameplay, it is far too sharp and needs to be toned down a lot. This means players don't run at 30mph and aiming is smooth instead of ultra sharp and the weapons need to be more realistic. It could learn a lot from games such as Half Life, Halo and Call Of Duty in the gameplay department.

    Anyway, good news

It comes down to opinion. I personally love the sharpness of the aiming, and don't find anything wrong with it. But this was certainly something a friend of mine picked up on as something he didn't like back in March.

Isn't this just a rumor? There was a similar article on PSU.com but it said it was a rumor.

Indeed it's speculation right now, there's quite a bit of darkness around who the source is and what credibility it has, and the original author apparently has a large book of yet to be validated rumors floating around.

Nathan Hale should be coming back for both sequels. I doubt there will be a better Resistance character than him, aside from Cartwright.

It's just the fact that he is so quiet that makes him so damn badass.

Haha, the fact the he took out the entire Chimeran army almost single handedly makes him a bad ass.

If he hasn't turned into a ravenous Cloven by now, he should be back, saving the U.S. with those cool looking golden eyes of his.

Yeah...Nathan is like Solid Snake junior or something...

America? Kinda surprised at that, I expected Russia actually...Well, Russia will probably be the final (3rd) installment's location then...

That is, if all of this is true...

And of course, I'm going to buy this, Q4/Fall 2008 just got one of it's first big named game title release...Aside from FF XIII of course ^_~

Isn't Russia where the virus broke out? And it's been under Chimeran control for about a decade IIRC, it wouldn't be a good idea going there yet.

Resistance single player offline sucked in comparison to online. It was just too damned tedious.

I thought singleplayer was awesome. Though it gets a bit predictable but still good

Resistance was trying to be gears of war and halo at the same time , lets hope number 2 will be better

With that logic, was Halo a bad rip off of Unreal Tournament? That's what I thought.

Seeker X, I've said that for years now, but everyone cries foul.

How the hell is resistance like gears, gears is a *bleep*ing third person dumb shit. I understand comparing to halo, but don't forget halo is a big franchise so it's a bad idead comparing those two.

Vehicles in multiplayer sound good, but not aircraft. Leave that to warhawk. The maps would have to be about 10 times bigger to support people flying around, or they would have to be very slow...

I wonder how the chimera got all the way to san fransico. In the begining of the game, the americans had no idea what they were going to fight when they went to england.

Perhaps through Asia? I'm pretty certain the Chimera arrived from Alaska (Intel reports say that a massive tower appeared in Alaska), using marine machinery (More intel suggests that there is a super-massive chimera/machine underwater, it took out the entire British navy in one tsunami)
