The Home Run Contest is back!
It's also been made that you can't fall off the side of Sandbag's platform. Besides all that, there's also a two-player mode.
In two player cooperativemode, it appears that you can both fight at once in order to make Sandbag take much more damage then normal and thus fly farther. There is also two player alternative mode, meaning two people fight back to back to see who can get the highest score.
Both of these two player modes will be available via Wi-Fi.
What is the Home-Run Contest? Its a competition to see who can hit Sandbag the farthest in just ten seconds!
At the start, its just you and Sandbag.
Then you just beat Sandbag silly, filling up his damage meter.
Theres only a 10-second time limit!
Before time runs out, grab the Home-Run Bat on the ground and do a smash attack with it!
Compete for longest distance.
Flight distances are recorded for each character. Go! Break the record! Set your own!!
But this time... there are four differences!
1: The stadium platform is protected by a shield.
If you dont put some force into it, you wont break through the shield, so you can pummel Sandbag to your hearts content. Surely this will allow you to string together new combos.
2: Two players can play together.
As a tag team, you can challenge yourselves to set even greater records. Youll have to work perfectly together, though.
3: Two-player alternating play.
Ah, competitionthats what the Stadium is all about. Players compete to see who can hit the farthest.
4: Online competitions.
This option can be found under With Friends. And it supports both the two-player cooperative and two-player alternating modes.
This is some rather rich functionality. Youll be able to play just this mode quite a bit. Amazing, isnt it?

Comments
The two player mode is interesting, and so is Wi-Fi play. It's nice to be able to choose either the cooperative or competitive mode when playing online, as well. It was quite annoying when the sandbag fell off of the platform, so it's good to see that the issue was taken care of.
I'm quite impressed. They've really made the home run contest quite a bit better. It used to be rather dull, but this sounds like fun.
Have you even used Wi-Fi, or played SSBM? Do you even have a Wii?
