It looks like Harmonix's big rhythm-game gun, Rock Band, will be missing some online functionality when it hits the 360 and PS3 later this year. According to a post by someone on the Harmonix staff, they scrapped online co-op for their World Tour mode, due to time constraints. However, there will still be online for both quickplay and versus modes, but you won't be rocking virtual city to virtual city over the series of tubes.

Band World Tour (and consequently the endless setlist) doesn't have an online mode. It was something we really wanted in there but the time to do it (and do it right taking into account all sorts of mostly unforeseen but very important things) was seriously prohibitive. It is something we are totally working for in the future as not only do you want to play it but so do we (more than you know). That said we do have our band quickplay and the competitive modes online and it they are amazing. Sorry for the confusion.

Lol, this is a geeks version of a band it I've ever seen one.

I doubt you'll be able to invite your friends over to play this or anything, so you'll always be alone.

Unlike alot of people on the internets i have a very strong social life and i have alot of house parties, get a few beers, some pizza and Rock Band and it would just be the most fun.

You're a girl and thus are cheating....

Hahaha j/k but yeah. It'd be better to have this as online co-op but I'm in dorms here at college and I have a handful of friends that'll be over pretty often.

Then come christmas I'll have a hole gang of people at home to party with.
