Call of Duty Black Ops Voted ‘Best Game Ending’ Of All Time
14 hours 57 mins ago
There is no comparison to the hype between the Orange Box and Halo 3. Everyone knew that Halo 3 was upon us. We all saw the Halo 3 commercials on TV, all the news reports, blog posts. But on the back burner with not as much advertising was Valve's Orange Box.
Next Gen have come up with some sales positions for sales in the US. You might have expected Halo 3 to be at the top at that list but with Valve giving a 20% price cut to the Orange Box sales have sprung it ahead to take the #1 spot for now.

Besides that, I don't think this is total sales Tek, this is just based on this past week or so.
Always was and always will be.
Just like what what you said.
That's your opinion, which you're entitled to-- But it's not fact.
Yeah I forgot those 100,000 commercials I was bombarded with on TV going "LETS FINISH THE FIGHT" and the thousands upon thousands camping out at night to get a copy in their Gordan Freeman masks and crowbars.
Oh wait. That never happened.
If you're going to ramble incoherently then at least try to make some shred of sense.
Stomping your feet and crying that the product that is currently taking the thunder away from your game is garbage and is completely pathetic.
The Orange Box [PC, XBOX360, PS3]
- A multiplayer game isn't appealing unless you want multiplayer. That's a really profound statement, it's deep, you should consider writing a book about it.
- Portal is short. Wow, but is the gameplay good? Is it probably one of the most rewarding single player experiences in shooters for quite some time? Yeah. It is. Get over the fact that you're missing out.
- Episodes 1 and 2 assume people care about the story.
Honestly, stop being such a pathetic fanboy, it's painful to watch you.
It is that good.
Why do you have to assume that people care about the story to play Episodes 1 and 2? The gameplay kicks more ass in Episode 2 than in HL2 itself probably. Some epic moments.
I hate Half Life. That's my opinion. I hate Halo, just not as much. As far as my comments, yeah, multiplayer is just a bonus in some games. Never said Portal didn't have good gameplay, just that it could be pretty short. I played Portal the other day on PC, loved it(possibly the only thing I liked from the OB).
The story part is in relation to just about every shooter out there. No one really cares about the story by itself. The story, in any game, is irrelevant when compared to the gameplay and emotion brought about actions taken within the game.
In that regard, I hardly play = haven't really done it in around or over a week is absolutely garbage.
The problem with opinion is that if you drop it once, thats fine, but if you go bantering trying to belittle a game in many postings, then you're not dropping opinion, you're trolling for another game that you prefer. That's all your behavior was / is. It's not opinion, it's fact and a sad one at that.
You can't claim emotion as an existence outside of a story, a story is directed by gameplay choices (AI, Enemy behavior, enemy scripting, goals / objectives), dialogue scripting, visuals, etc. Otherwise you'd be in a giant primary colored grid with a giant blob shooting color at other giant squares in a single level, never ending battle until you decided to quit the game.
Aside from the attempt to represent everyone, which btw you are not. You seem to be implying that gamers only wish to play in such a realm as that seeing as gameplay and emotion are derived from a story. The reality is, you don't take actions in a game, you complete goals with pre-determined outcomes by the developer, things that were already scripted into the story to help you reach the pre-determined goal they wished you to experience so that you could have that happy feel good moment they designed and wrote for you.
Let's look at the facts: Halo 3 = 1 game, Orange Box = 5 games. Not too hard to see the difference there. Besides, I highly doubt that this is the total sales as opposed to a weekly sale.
And DEZVOUS, just because you say Half-Life is better than Halo, doesn't mean it is. I could say Barbie Horse Adventures is better than Half-Life, but that doesn't mean it is. Look up the word 'opinion' in the dictionary, and you'll see what I'm running on about.
Nobody played Halo 3 for the story anyway.
But I played for the story...I haven't touched multi-player...check my gamertag if you don't believe me.
Glad to hear.
And all the thumbs downs I'm about get will only prove my point.
This is a huge surprise, though. I thought the release of Halo 3 was supposed to be the second coming of Christ or something.
