JP Wii Virtual Console: 10/30/07: Hanjuku Assault Suits

Akira_EX | October 30, 2007 | News | Wii
With the NA releases of Sin & Punishment and Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels on the Virtual Console, paying attention to which games get VC releases in both Japan and Europe get much more important, as these games are then ready to be used on the VC, and sport the possibility of crossing the ocean.

Last week's Japanese Virtual Console updates was the virtual megaton. This week, not so much.

Highlighting this week's offerings is the Square Enix Famicom RTS (o_O), Hanjuku Hero. It is the second Square Enix game to hit the VC, the first being Actraiser.

Joining it are Yoshi's Story for the N64, and Assault Suits Leynos for the Mega Drive, also known as Target Earth in the US.
Well, we needed some time to settle down after last week's megaton. Being heartbroken about awesome games being released in other regions is hard work, you know! We're sure you all felt a bit of the agony as River City Ransom saw a release in not-here.

The highest-profile release for Japan this week is an N64 game we already have and don't care much about anyway; backing that up is a humorous NES RTS from Square Enix, which we'll probably never see, and a very early Genesis shooter/platformer that was the first in the series that produced Cybernator. Some good stuff, to be sure, but we're glad to have the time off from freaking out.
