He asked me if I reserved halo 3 and I said no, I will buy it release date at best buy for the reward zone program. He started laughing and said I wouldn't be able to find it.
My best buy still had halo 2 copies from launch over a year after it was out.
I started laughing and said their will be legendary editions still on shelves 6 months after halo 3 is out. guess what? they still are!
gamestop is garbage.
BTW: Googling "GameStop Smart" brings up a bit less than 500K hits, and it seems a bunch of them have to do with a guy who has the last name "Smart" >_>
Course, you rarely find more positive results, than critiques...
At our local GameStop, though, they never ask me to reserve anything. There's this one guy there that's good at what he does there. The rest, meh... there's this one chick there that knows absolutely nothing about games, but she's hot, so it kind of balances out.
and they don't always take the new games out of the case. usually they have a few display cases, and keep the new, sealed games behind the counter.
"A used game is just that, used, and with the fragility of disc-based media it's idiotic to expect a used game to be considered almost equal in price to a new game."
and its still the same game that a team of designers and developers slaved over for months/years on end to finish. i highly disagree with that, and i buy used games all the time. it's just a way to save 5$, quit bitching. bigger retailers wont even give you the option to get a discount on a game just because someone else owned it.
Point #1) I agree and disagree on this point. Sure, they are annoying when they tell you to reserve games but they offer you games you might never experience before.
Point #2) I agree on this point. People can still loan games from a old console if they want too. They can't decide what games you want to loan or which console your getting your rented game for and yes. Each type of player should enjoy there own game genres.
Point #3): I agree, Game Informer is a really good game magazine. I would trust them with all my will.
Point #4):I agree with all my fist. Used games should be lower, since they are used by someone else and who knows the damage the disc might have.
Point #5): I agree. They explained it well. I have nothing to say.
Point #6): I agree. There are many Portable computers gamers out there. There deserve the same credit as video game system gamers.
Point #7): I agree and disagree on this point. The reason I agree is that yes, they should stop hiring idiots. They need to give them a video game IQ test to see if they know about gaming, not hire random people. The reason I disagree, since many people who are idiots attract costumers (such as hot babes etc.). So its actually good for there sales.
Good find on this article. It proved many gamers the truth about GameSpot.
