Dual Shock 3 Shakes Up PS2 Games

We have all been thinking if the Dual Shock three will work on the PS2. Well as of now it's been discovered that you can at leasts use it with newer PS2 games example provided (Ratchet & Clank Future). So get ready for the rumbling experience of the PS3 on the newer PS2 games!!!!
When the Dual Shock 3 was finally announced, a lot remained a mystery. While the latest firmware update provided rumble support, Sony has been notably quiet on whether it would work with PS2 games. We all assumed it would; I mean, it only makes sense, right?
Some intrepid European importers have solved that little mystery for us, though, as PSPSPS reports that their Dual Shock 3 controllers, hot off the Japanese production lines, have worked fine with providing rumble to titles such as Rez and Katamari Damacy using the 2.0 firmware upgrade. This was on a Japanese PS3, mind you, but previously Sony rep Kimberly Otzman told us that there wasn't any region-locking she was aware of.

While patches haven't been released for previously released PlayStation 3 titles, you should be able to at least get your shake on with PS2 titles and newer games that are designed with rumble in mind, like Ratchet & Clank Future.

That is, if you're willing to pay the import fees. Nothing like product rarity to promote opportunism.

Why the hell wouldn't it be wireless standard? It would come with a USB cord anyway.
