The Forgotten Characters of the Mushroom Kingdom

TwilightPrince | November 14, 2007 | News | Misc
GameDaily takes a look at some of the most neglected (and forgotten) characters of the Mushroom Kingdom. Some of the characters included on the list are Mouser from SMB2, Wiggler, and Blooper.

Poor fellas.
We love Mario, but Nintendo's plumber always hogs the spotlight. Sure, he's got a cute outfit and we giggle like school children whenever he shouts "mamma mia", but there's more to the Mushroom Kingdom than a hairy Italian guy. With that, here are some of the characters Mario stepped on to reach the top.

I can't say I agree with most of the characters on the list. They're not "forgotten" characters who need to be remembered - They're just insignificant and/or uninteresting. Hell, most of them are just random enemies that Mario encounters.

Although now this article has brought up a question that has never crossed my mind ... Who (or what) is Boo the ghost of?

I think one of the users on that site summed up my feelings best:

This is the worst list I've ever seen. Congratulations for creating a list of "neglected" characters, and then going on to mainly feature characters who are in every single Mario game released in the past five years. Whoever wrote this should probably stop writing about video games, or at least consult a dictionary as to the meaning of the word "neglected". This guy's next article: "Whatever Happened to Metroid?""

The "Mousers" are a bit neglected, that's true.

But Bloopers? Absolutely not. A Blooper appeared as a recent playable character in Mario Party 8.
And as for Wigglers, they're in Super Mario Galaxy. So... There ya go.
