It looks like yet another company is going to take a shot at making the classic Ghostbusters movies into a video-game franchise. Yep, Vivendi is. And today they released some more information about what the game will actually be about.

It will be interesting to see how this new game pans out ...

Vivendi Games is pacting with Sony Pictures to turn "Ghostbusters" into a videogame franchise.
First title in what the publisher hopes will be a series of "Ghostbusters" games is set for release in fall '08 from Vivendi's Sierra label.

All four members of the movie team -- Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, Bill Murray and Harold Ramis -- will be giving voice and likeness rights for the game. Some supporting castmembers have signed up as well, including William Atherton, Brian Doyle Murray and Annie Potts.

In addition, film scribes Aykroyd and Ramis will pen a story for the vidgame that takes place in the early '90s, after "Ghostbusters II," during a new ghoul invasion of New York City.

Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, Bill Murray AND Harold Ramis?!? In one game?!? In GHOSTBUSTERS?!? I think the universe is soon imploding upon itself. I'm actually quite interested in this project. Here's hoping for... beam crossing!

Ghostbusters for NES was one of the biggest *bleep* ups in gaming history. Most boring game EVER.

Hopefully this will make up for all that shit.

Haha it wasn't THAT bad. I'd say it was as tongue in cheek and fruity as the movie.

It was that bad to me. The stair level was 90% impossible and literally, the game almost put me to sleep haha.

I suggest to try out Ghostbusters for Genesis (which I'm sure you may already have). I thought that one was alot of fun.

I never got past the stair level >_>
But yeah, the NES Ghostbusters game was definitely up there with being one of the worst NES games released. Other than mindlessly driving up a road and shooting Casper-like ghosts every now and then, there wasn't much to it. It resembled the Ghostbusters movie as much as the RE movies resemble the games - Not much at all.

Are you sure you're talking about the same Ghostbusters game, Red? XD
