For over a decade, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time has hailed as the greatest game of all time. And since GameRankings began tracking the average scores between professional reviews, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time has continued to justify that title by hailing as #1 in the top overall games ever. But it appears for the first time the game has been pushed beck to #2 by Super Mario Galaxy for the Nintendo Wii. And unlike the hours long reigns other games have had as #1 on the Top overall games list, Super Mario Galaxy appears to be there to stay.
Nintendo still continues to dominate the charts as they now claim the top 3 games on the charts.
#1: Super Mario Galaxy (Nintendo Wii)
#2: The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time (Nintendo 64)
#3: Metroid Prime (Nintendo GameCube)
GameRankings Chart
1. Super Mario Galaxy - WII - Nintendo - 30 - 8.7 - 97.8%
2. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time - N64 - Nintendo - 31 - 9.0 - 97.6%
3. Metroid Prime - GC - Nintendo - 92 - 8.8 - 96.3%

I mean I loved MP, but there's no way in hell it's the third greatest game ever, there's no replay value what so ever. I beat it 100% first time and have never touched it since. The greatest games of all time you can play for years and never get tired of.
As much as I love Galaxy (and I really love it), I don't think it's better then Ocarina of Time. Ocarina is, and always will be the greatest game of all time. No matter how much technology advances in the coming years, everyone will still recoginize Ocarina as the game that defined all 3D games after it.
Ocarina is still the best game of all time. End of.
To be honest, as much as I love OoT, I have to say that Galaxy is better. It might not be as much of a technical achievement as the first real 3D adventure game, but it took a genre that has moved nowhere in over a decade, and in fact most people thought could move nowhere, and created a game I could have never dreamed of. It's the kind of game where just running around is a joy. And that magical feeling OoT gives you is nothing compared to the one Galaxy gives you. The amount of sheer creativity is incredible. Personally, since I have played through both recently (people tend to look at classics through rosy glasses, myself included), I have to say Galaxy is better than Ocarina of Time, even if just by a little.
Of course, that's just my own personal opinion. The average score could drop, although I have noticed that it has been increasing over the past few days.
And would you pricks stop thumbing down people with legit responses? for *bleep*'s sake...
*awaits being flamed*
