PSN to SEN: Time to rage quit? - DarkFeed

Gizmodo's very own expert Jason Chen had done a "8 Reasons Why The PSP Might Overtake the DS" a while ago with worthwhile arguments for it though when read by this critic who then changed as he did not agree with it, so he generated his own "8 Reasons why The PSP Will Never Overtake The DS". Enjoy.
For additional reasons, follow the source.
As long as we're talking about sales, the DS has topped 40 million units worldwide. Sony has, respectably, reached 25 million. Both numbers look big, but remember, Nintendo already has a nearly 2:1 lead. And that's plenty of breathing room when you...
Nintendo has the one-two brand punch of Wii, which is the leading home console in the world. Since its launch, the Nintendo Wii has not been outsold for a month worldwide ever by the Xbox 360 or PS3. There's simply no stronger brand right now in video games right now than Nintendo.
The PSP doesn't offer an alternative experience so the PSP will inherently always battle the PlayStation brand for market share. What do I mean? The PSP is exactly what it promises to be: a portable PlayStation. And while that's great, the lack of a different interface on the PSP means that other than its portable nature, there is little gaming-wise drawing consumers to the product. In other words, Sony is essentially selling oranges and smaller oranges. Nintendo, in its two screens and use of touch, is selling oranges and apples. While this was a gamble originally, the public likes the unique taste of both flavors of gaming. Buying a Wii cannot replace the experience of buying a DS, or vice versa. So people are more tempted to buy both.

IMO I think the PSP is better than the DS (yes I have both to compare). The PSP has Internet which I love, and you can download music/videos.
The DS the basic is playing games, and you have to buy other things to make it do certain stuff. Which leads to you spending more $money$.
So basically you think the better system is the PSP just because of the extra things you can do on it?
I buy game consoles to play games on, so all that extra shit the PSP can do is irrelevant too me. It's the games library that counts.
But I'm going to thumb you down because... well, I just plain don't like you.
'Gz Nintendo and I myself prefer the DS, just a little silly here.
The Backwards compatibility argument falls flat on its face for two things. PS Store PS1 downloadables, and PSP modding (in which you can even play Super *bleep*ing Mario from the NES on the PSP).
The argument should just stick with sales, not the features of the system...cuz that's easily debatable and brushed away.
This sentence makes me so furious, they are just some *bleep*ing nintendo fanboys god damit, they know the PS3 has outsold the Wii a few times, but they felt like lying and saying it was never outsold so their article will be longer.
But like ITANI said, I enjoy the DS more because of the games it has. I don't actually think one is better than the other. It's all a matter of a person's opinion, like almost everything else is in this world.
It all comes down to the library in the end. The DS is just more playable. So they are able to get better third party games. And Nintendo has a much better first party lineup then Sony. Zelda, Mario, and Wario vs. God of War, and MGS which isn't actually even first party.
Therefore I wish DS had more games.
Or at least, bring out the crazy Jap games here please?
Being a life-long Nintendo fan also adds to my love of the Nintendo DS, despite how much I appreciate Sony games.
