Prior to his leaving Austin-based Midway, Harvey Smith labels flop BlackSite: Area 51 project as: "so *bleep*ed up," at a games summit in Quebec, Canada.

Videogames developer and publisher Midway has this week announced that Harvey Smith, the creative director of recent release BlackSite: Area 51, has left the Austin-based company by mutual consent.

It remains to be seen whether Smith’s somewhat overt criticism of the BlackSite project during the Montral International Games Summit in Quebec, Canada, has anything to do with his dismissal.

I haven't heard of this game at all eitheir.

Maybe that's why it's so bleeped up they need to do some ads with this game or something, but I guess it's to late now.

I heard about it and played the two demos available for download on the Xbox Live Marketplace.

It's not great, it feels like some generic alien shooter.

I guess...but the first was Area 51. It was a remake of the arcade game. So now for whatever reason they added a prefix instead.

Anyway the demo's aren't really that bad. Some parts are actually pretty entertaining. I wouldn't pay 60 for it but I would rent or buy at 20 or less later.
