The PS3 version of the Orange Box, the compilation of Half Life 2 and episode one and two of its episodic content, as well as Portal and Team Fortress 2 will be released on the 11th of December. Just over one week from now. Will the frame rate truly be as bad as the reviewers say? Or will this box set usher in a new era of console gaming? Only time will tell

Finally, PlayStation 3 gamers will be able to join the PC and 360 ranks and experience the joy and wonder that is The Orange Box.

The Orange Box for PS3 comes out on December 11th, and we feel confident in predicitng that its release will end the bickering over which console is superior once and for all. Portal is just good enough to herald a new age of cross-console generosity and brotherhood. Hallelujah!

I was under the impression that the date was already set even before it came out on PC and 360.

"end all the bickering over which console is superior"

That's just asking for a fanboy war. This game has no bearing on which console is superior, especially since the PS3 game was entrusted to a whole different team.

I don't see how this game could even start the whole console superior thing. I just don't see it actually making sales for the PS3. But that my opinion, im not going to get it until i see the sales and such. But UT3 i will have to get next Monday. It looks to good to pass by.

Yet it made sales elsewhere. People enjoy the ability to have a solid FPS experience. If they did shape up the build then TF2 should have people glued to their sixaxis controls for hours on end like the rest of the TF2 players.

UT3 is fun, been playing it since release but I still find myself in TF2 just for the absurd behaviors of the figures and great times shoving people in the box as they try to capture in gravelpit.

Well i thought there was reports of issues with this version. Im just skeptical on how its going to do on the PS3. I hope it does sell well, but im just not sure. TF2 is probably fun but what about the others, can you see the other games being just as fun and worth it. I mean to have several games on disc and only one appeals to a certain person doesn't mean very good sales. Or at least from my perspective. Its just my opinions and i just want to see how everyone see's the game on the PS3. I mean if a bunch of people get it on the PS3 and say it very awesome and try it i will. But if no one likes it, than i don't have to worry. I mean this generation there is alot of games that im probably going to be getting and i want to make sure if its worth it not just by sales and numbers but what people see through it on Neo, since i trust them more than reviews.

Portal is absurdly comical with it's own flavor of gameplay for those that aren't time trial whores.

Team Fortress 2 delivers solid online gameplay with quite a replay value for those interested.

Half-Life 2 speaks for itself, the storyline in 2 travels quite a bit and leads up well to the conclusion of the story which probably will be another year off at least. For those who are interested in story driven gaming with some limited ideas of roaming, HL2 does it quite well especially as it reaches Episode 2.

I would hesitate though on this edition of the game. The 360 and PC versions have been fine but for the PS3 I'd say your best bet is to find out how well EA ported this thing before you bite into something that might just be flat out awful as a port.

Which is why i felt this game won't sell since we all know that EA doesn't like PS3 and has yet to make good games for it. As far as i see anyway. Thats why im probably going to see how it does before even attempting to rent it.

I doubt this game'll sell well. Judging by EA's quality of games on PS3, this game will like turn out like a half-assed port nobody wants, and another reason for 360 owners to laugh at us.

      I'm buying it.

Now seeing as there was a preview that really sounded like Orange Box was metaphorical shit, but then again you got IGN saying that the issues weren't so bad...so you gotta figure that the other preview was bitching too much...THEN AGAIN! This is EA...and IGN is a bit of a softy when it comes to previews/reviews.
