While the PS3 is already well established for its processing power, it may come as a surprise to learn that hackers can use the Cell chip to break file passwords in order to stretch their nefarious reach.
Beyond lending its considerable processing strength to the likes of the honourable Folding(at)Home project, it turns out that nefarious individuals within the hacking community are able to adapt the PS3 in order to crack passwords with relative ease.

Completely agree though; they'll always look at new stuff and it was gonna happen sooner or later.
so it was foreseeable prior to this that some hacker was going to utilize a ps3 as a machine to help him crack a password?
