Eve Patch makes XP unbootable

huntyr | December 06, 2007 | News | PC
Warning: If you are running Windows XP, the latest Eve patch deletes the boot.ini file from your HD. This seems to only affect the Premium version.

CCP is going to have to do some major apologies to their customers for this one, as their customers are understandably mad the installer deletes \boot.ini.

Give credit to CCP however, they have put a small warning on Eve's home page
If this happens to you, the fix is in the Eve forums
TO fix the issue:
attrib -H -R -S C:\Boot.ini
DEL C:\Boot.ini
BootCfg /Rebuild
Fixboot

Haha, a "small warning". They really could have made a bigger deal out of it.
