SSBB won't be out in Europe till after June 2008

Nintendo has confirmed to VideoGamer.com that Super Smash Bros Brawl won't be coming out in Europe until after Q2. VideoGamer noticed that SSSB was not in the recently updated schedule for Europe.
Hotly anticipated Wii title Super Smash Bros. Brawl won't be coming out in Europe until after June 2008, Nintendo has confirmed to VideoGamer.com.

We thought something was up when we noticed the game was absent from Nintendo's updated schedule, distributed to media this morning. This seemed odd considering Mario Kart Wii, another high-profile first-party Wii game, was listed as coming out in Q2.

When contacted by VideoGamer.com a Nintendo spokesperson revealed that SSBB won't be out until after Q2 in Europe. SSBB is set for release in the US on February 10, 2008 and January 24, 2008 in Japan.

Wow, tough luck for PAL territories. Hope this is some kind of mistake.

I doubt it will be a mistake if Nintendo themselves have said so . It's accurate though, there was no sign of it in the press release issued today. So I guess we've just been royally shafted =/.

Why me? Now I will never beat Onikokoro. I suck and he is part pro. With him having that much longer to play it there is no hope. Nintendo, please, why are you doing this to me. I beg of you, I beg of you!

I feel sorry for Europe. Why can't they do worldwide releases back-to-back instead of it being so damn spread out? It will only lead to...imports perhaps?

          But it's an unfortunate truth.

And I thought that seeing Japan have the game a month before North America would be torture....

I am in no way, shape or form surprised. This happens for pretty much everything. Just goes to prove that most game companies only care about Japan and America (plus related areas) and don't give a shit for the rest.

Actually it's because they have to translate the game into several other languages for release in Europe (usually 5 languages), while the US is usually just English. Plus god knows what trivial shit they're changing so the higher-ups in Europe don't bitch. Remember the old Mario Party 'spastic' thing? Yeah.

They don't 'not give a shit' about anyone.

If that was true, then riddle me this. Why the *bleep* can't they release them as they finish translating? I live in Australia and Brawl is already going to be in English when it comes out, sure they have to turn it to PAL but that won't take hardly any time and also there are going to be like a few words that are spelt different but just because of that I have to wait a few more months compared to NTSC territories? Excuse me if I just sound a lil pissed...cause really I am but how the hell does that yell out fair?

I hope the Aussie release isn't this far but it'll probably be further...

This is really unfortunate for PAL regions. Sometimes I wish that they wouldn't state the release date until it has been confirmed for all countries that are getting it.

Hey, I feel for you guys I really do. .

I have to admit this isn't exactly fair though. seeing as they can't enjoy the game as early as others.
