Apparently the news media can air all the hate-filled video clips it wants, but using the terms "blog" or "video game" will only be detrimental because former NBC news anchor Tom Brokaw considers them cancerous, as stated in a radio interview. The sad thing, however, is that this is a case of mere words versus emotionally stirring video footage. I'm yet to meet someone that suddenly goes berserk at hearing the words "blog" or "video game" and I doubt I ever will. However, I have met people that have been disturbed by the footage that NBC showed regarding Cho Seung Hui.

In a radio interview, former NBC newsman Tom Brokaw defended his network’s decision to air psychotic, hate-filled video rants made by Virginia Tech killer Cho Seung Hui.

At the same time Brokaw termed blogs and video games “cancerous” in relation to the violence issue.
