Following yesterdays news of the rumour that SEGA could be making a Dreamcast 2, SEGA have flat out denied that they're planning on making a new console. The company stated that they don't intend to get back into the console making business, as they'd rather carry on with their success in the games market.
SEGA has denied the Dreamcast 2 is in the works, saying "We like our current strategy and have no plans to change in the middle of this outstanding growth."
We brought you the news yesterday that SEGA Corporation had filed a new application to protect the trademark Dreamcast - sparking rumours that the Japanese publisher was planning on making a shock return to the console manufacturing market with the Dreamcast 2.
However, Sega of America PR Director Charlie Scibetta told US website GameDaily.com that SEGA "has no plans to get back into the console business," adding, "We're very happy being a platform agnostic company and have moved up the ranks the past three years from #11, to #9, and now stand at #6 in terms of our market share by units among third-party publishers. We like our current strategy and have no plans to change in the middle of this outstanding growth."

Come to think of it, that would be too risky at this point, and put them out of business forever in fact...we need to buy Sega games to get their profit up, heh.
I woulda bought a Dreamcast 2 just for the possibility of Shenmue 3.
Shenmue I and II were that good.
Either way they are still in the arcade hardware business so saying they're 100% out isn't accurate, their hardware division still focuses on trying to find new ways to expand their technologies.
Atleast we can all enjoy compilations of old games =D.
