Yes the winners are in. The annual video game awards where aired on Spike TV and if you missed out the chance to see the winners, there is a full list of the winners right here. Wondering what the best game of the year was? Well the winner of that prestigious award was Bioshock.

    I still think COD4 should've won Game of the Year, even though it's only been out for a few weeks. But it won best shooter and best military game, so it's all good.

    No surprise I would have chosen Bioshock for best game of the year myself. And no surprises on Halo 3.
    I pretty much agree with the winners, especially Ratchet and Clank the best PS3 game of the year. Great job, looks like CoD4 had several awards. Best shooter and Military game i agree

      Maybe but since Heavenly Sword storyline was short that may had played an effect, i still believed it was a candidate though or like runner up.

    I agree with most of the choices...meh, BioShock. I think Mass Effect should be Best 360 game, and CoD4 should be GOTY. Still, happy with the majority of the results.

    Didn't think that the list was decent at all to be honest, as all of the Game of the Year nominees were exactly the same as the nominees for the best 360 games. The fact that Super Mario Galaxy wasn't even a Game of the Year nominee is laughable.

    At least the rest of the list seems decent enough.

    Yeah, the Halo Dew one was rigged for sure >_>

    Kinda surprised (what with all the Halo fanboys) that Halo 3 didn't win Best 360 game >_>

    Assassin's Creed didn't win anything, probably because of all the glitching, it irritated everyone....not to mention, it wasn't THAT great of a game, from what I've currently played >_>

    I agree with everything except the GOTY winner and best online. Best online should've been Warhawk. As for what GOTY should've been...well, maybe Bioshock is a good choice, I guess it just doesn't fit my tastes. Though I'm sad the PS3's only award was in Best PS3 Game and nowhere else.

    Best multiplayer should have been Warhawk. I mean it has bigger maps, no lag, more players and a dedicated team which continually updates and fixes the game

    I honestly don't understand how you guys could think Warhawk is a better multiplayer game than Halo 3, CoD4 and Team Fortress 2.

          Never said Warhawk was the "obviously better game and it should've been chosen" (while it did look like it) I'm just saying is that Warhawk is a damn good piece of work and should not be discredited as such.

    I think the reason Warhawk didn't get anything was because it has no tutorial, so if you're inexperienced, there's nowhere to train. Plus, it's got a whole different style that people aren't used to.

    Besides, Spike is just a bunch of duded with too much testosterone. Of course they'll like Halo over anything else.

    I never said I hated Warhawk. I haven't played it. But CoD4 is getting near perfect reviews from EVERYONE. Hundreds of thousands are playing Halo 3 online. Yet somehow those facts work AGAINST those games in your logic.

      HOLY SHIT, game reviewers say Call of Duty 4 is *bleep*ing perfect! I should just discard every game I got just for that. You know what a 10/10 is? A flawless game, and I'm pretty sure you're smart enough to know that not everyone loves CoD4, right?

      Now if you actually paid attention to my comment, you'd know that I'm not saying that Warhawk is officially better than CoD4, but your little reasoning resides with "If popular reviewers say it's true, then my opinion is worth shit now" way of thinking, kinda like Sheep Herding, if you will.

    The last one on the list makes me laugh. Seriously they just need an excuse to give that shitty game another award, which doesn't deserve multiplayer either because it's so flawed. Mass Effect was GOTY despite what the VGA's say. Bioshock was fun for a little bit then there was no replay value whatsoever and it wasn't as orgasmtastic as everyone made it out to be. Dirt isn't racer of the year either, we all know Forza 2 is. The rest of the list is right though besides those few things.

    At least COD4 got shooter of the year like it deserved.

    One more thing, how can a game win breakthrough techonogly? Haven't video games been around for quite some time? I thought it was suppose to be a hardware award? Meh.

      I guess it got break through technology cause its vastly different from others game we have seen. I agree with you on Halo and Bioshock about no replay value.

    Sucks that Mass Effect only got best RPG. I think Orange Box or Mass Effect deserved GoTY. Sure as hell glad Halo 3 didn't get it though.

    I do think Halo 3 has some amazing music though. I would've liked to have seen it win that.

    Lol, at best graphics. It's pretty much as bad as best game fueled by dew. Of course crysis was going to take home that.

    I've played majority of the games on the list here. Definitely deserve to be there. Bioshock had me gripped for days, the storyline is just fantastic.

    So glad bioshock wo over halo. Although halo is good and fun, bioshock was overall the better crafted game in my opinion, and was more of a work of art than a product.

    In my own personal opinion, Bioshock shouldn't had won "Best Game of the Year" award. I can agree it's a good game but I find Mass Effect already better.

    Halo winning the best multi-player award wasn't surprising. Although, I still think Warhawk could have been given credit as I find it a better game then Halo 3.

    Overall, the winners are pretty decent as some of them deserved there current award while some don't deserve it.

    I think Assassin's Creed should've won Best Graphics as well. Bioshock does look amazing, but I think AC looks better.
