eBay no longer hides cool bargains as much as it hides trading charlatans looking to charge far too much for items you can generally buy cheaper elsewhere. And, in the case of the hard-to-find Nintendo Wii, "cheaper elsewhere" takes on a life of its own.

The accompanying price tag may mean re-mortgaging the house or selling granny into the slave trade, but if you’re prepared to break the bank, risk your marriage, or bid farewell to your kids’ higher education in order to secure the Wii, then it’s yours... for the right price.

They didn't say if it actually sold for that much though, which is a HUGE difference. I saw them going for $1000 the other day, but doesn't mean anyone actually paid that much. I hope not.....it's just a frickin' Nintendo man!! Wait until January.......damn spoiled kids!!! LOL

This' in English currency, so $1000 is £500 which makes £30,000 $60,000.

Ridiculous amount, I imagine it's out of context though.

I've been making quite a profit off of buying and selling Wii's, personally. But they definitely aren't going for anything over $500, as far as I know.

You guys would be surprised who would pay that much for a system, someone bought a PS3 a day after launch for over $40,000 which is like £15,000. Still crazy though.
Tock yes but again i assume this has something to do with the Wii shortages for the holiday and this is ebay were talking about, not a regular store. Ebay sells things over the actual price in store or less if your lucky.

Good thing best buy had one for $250ish. Yay me.

That is uber stupid of people to be addicted over a game console that you can buy like a month later for a lot better price.

Can pick up quite a few Wii's on the cheap with my friends staff discount. Might have to invest in a few of them to sell on for this price.
