The gaming community has had times in the past when games can increase on price during a new console generation. Super Nintendo rings a bell but more recently gamers can recall the increase from PlayStation 2 to the Xbox 360 / PlayStation 3 era. When the Xbox 360 first came out some rare games could cost $70 - $80. With Amazon's placeholder listings saying $99 for certain PlayStation 4 titles which real price hasn't been announced yet, Sony takes the time out to let gamers know they will not be increasing the baseline price of new AAA releases beyond the standard $60 price.
