There's no denying the huge popularity of the Wii, but Japanese gaming giant Nintendo is indicating that the evergreen DS (launched in Nov 2004) could well emerge as the year's biggest hardware winner.
Nintendo has revealed that it is selling a single DS handheld every five seconds in the US region and is holding fast to the belief that the little clamshell console will shake off the challenge of the Wii and emerge as the years biggest-selling platform.

I wish I had one. But most of the games would probably be Japanese imports. I saw this cool learning type of game my friend got. It looks like it helps teach you the stroker order of Kanji and it's definition. That would definitely help me in Japanese class.
