There's no denying the huge popularity of the Wii, but Japanese gaming giant Nintendo is indicating that the evergreen DS (launched in Nov 2004) could well emerge as the year's biggest hardware winner.

Nintendo has revealed that it is selling a single DS handheld every five seconds in the US region and is holding fast to the belief that the little clamshell console will shake off the challenge of the Wii and emerge as the year’s biggest-selling platform.

      You can get me one!

I wish I had one. But most of the games would probably be Japanese imports. I saw this cool learning type of game my friend got. It looks like it helps teach you the stroker order of Kanji and it's definition. That would definitely help me in Japanese class.

I know a lot of my friends own a DS and a lot are going to be buying some soon. It is not much of a shock to me that the DS might end out on top this year.

I haven't really been playing ds in a while. It's weird because sometimes I'm really into the wii and then sometimes i'm really into ds and then sometimes i'm into WOW on the computer and sometimes a little of all 3 or 2.

I see no reason for someone not to buy one. It's sleek, shiny, as well as portable with the capability of facing foes online on specific games, as well as a browser that can hook you up to the internet. What's not to love?
