Randy Pitchford, President of Gearbox Software, claims people have it backwards about allegations that the developer took "Aliens: Colonial Marines" money and used it to develop "Borderlands 2."
Randy Pitchford stated today that the success that the “Borderlands” franchise has seen has helped fund all other Gearbox Software developed games. The comment is in light of recent allegations that the company took money earmarked for “Aliens: Colonial Marines” and used it to help create “Borderlands 2” instead. Pitchford, President of Gearbox Software, says this couldn’t be further from the truth. “Think opposite,” he said on his Twitter account as he stated that “Borderlands 2” profits have been used by the developer as investment to help pay for all other Gearbox Software games, including “Aliens: Colonial Marines.”
