Zero Punctuation: Heavy Rain
5 hours 29 mins ago
Having already secured its lead in the next-gen race, putting pay to both the PS3 and the Xbox 360, the Nintendo Wii continues to be as hot now as it was at launch over a year ago. Consumers are eager to get one as Christmas approaches, but how can they do that without risking exposure, human stampede, and marked up prices. In short, they can't.
Nintendo has conceded that it simply wont be able to meet demand, despite striving to inject the retail market with an extra 3 million units in the run-up to the busy holiday season, which duly leaves an awful lot of desperate consumers looking in every available nook and cranny in the hope of uncovering a Wii.
So, bearing that in mind, where should consumers be looking as the windows on the advent calendar gradually flip open and December 25 begins to loom large on the horizon?

'...as it was at launch...' = it was 'hot' at launch.
'...continues to be as hot now...' = it now is still as 'hot' as it was at launch.
Simple.
It's hard to find many items in late November/early December, though I agree, they need to try and increase their supply.
