GamingShogun is reporting that NVIDIA has announced it is upgrading it's SLI technology to include up to three connected GeForce video cards. This is said to greatly increase performance as well as drain our wallets even faster than ever.

In a press release today, NVIDIA has announced that it is extending it's SLI technology to include three GeForce® graphics cards to be used in a single machine. Performance gains, according to the press release, are said to be '2.8x' better than single-GPU systems.

    Considering that each card is going to cost 400-800 dollars, that is a pricey setup.

    Its just too darn expensive, unfortunately. That is a huge boon to the console industry. Not that I have a problem with console gaming, far from it, but the PC market doesn't need an additional hurdle in its already minority state.

    Jeezuz, WTF? Who the heck needs 3-way SLI for like the next 2 to 3 or more years? Nice new tech, but big waste of money.

      In that amount of time, single cards will probably be able to do the same thing as 3 way SLI.

      Technology advances faster than people can upgrade.
