Sony Chairman Howard Stringer has revealed that the PS3 is more "fun, demanding, and exciting," than the Nintendo Wii. The PS3 is an impressive piece of kit, but we can only assume that he's been living on Mars throughout 2007.

Ignoring the innovation and creativity behind the Wii, and the pure fun-fuelled ethos responsible for its market-leading success throughout 2007, Stringer enthused that the PS3’s sales surge has seen it beating out the Wii in Japan during November, with it now shifting some 40,000 to 50,000 consoles per week.

Opinion's not everyone likes the Wii, myself included, i personally find the Wii to be a very underwhelming piece of technology with games that often look graphically underpar with a gameplay mechanic that is often unresponsive and petty, the Nintendo Wii is at times one of the most boring systems i have ever bought and at its price it is actually very very expensive, i could buy another PS2 for £140 less, have a better game library, better graphics at times and have more fleshed out and better party games.

Both articles on this matter have comments taking it completely out of context. He isn't a fan or a reviewer with a preference. He is a Sony representative who has just blatantly attacked another company's product.

An opinion isn't an attack... An attack is worded a lot differently and would actually effect the company in some way, all he was saying was no more than anyone of us on the forum say daily, we post our opinions no matter how out spoken and harsh they may be, because they are just that opinions. He has done nothing wrong except piss off aimless Nintendo fans heh.

This is pleasure for us, that is business for them. That difference changes things completely.

Not at all yes there is a code of conduct but that doesn't mean they are asked to hold their tongue, if they want to speak they can and will speak... Its not like he said "*bleep* the Wii its piece of crap its cheap and poorly built and mine even broke on me twice buy a PS3", he just voiced his opinion which he is entitled to do.

I can see that logic but he didn't state it in a manner befitting of representative. Legally speaking should he not be made to state as clearly as possible that it is his belief?

This article has already been posted before and Seeker X and iLLmatic both gave perfectly good reasons why this isn't news. All this is is doing is baiting PS3 fanboys to comment it on and start flame wars. Black how do you know what manner is befitting of representation? Like Existenz said he did nothing wrong. Just stating an opinion, whether the Wii fans agree or not isn't the point.

Im sure if the places were reversed you wouldn't think the same way you are doing here.

I agree I wouldn't, but I would suspect nor would any of you.

And I just expect a more diplomatic sounding form of debate from someone representing their company officially. Hell, I have gotten peeved at Fils-Aime a few times for accidentally putting a bad light on Nintendo with his somewhat more 'in your face attitude' towards its competitors.

I would think the same way if it was said the same way. Thats my point though. Since he didn't say anything wrong and was just his opinion there is nothing wrong with it. Someone just thinks there is and trying to stir up trouble and baiting Sony fanboys to this article. Like i said before i don't give crap about the whole article nor care which console is more fun, but Existenz is right here though.

Lmao at the title, he's hardly deluded if he's the Chairman, what do you expect him to say? Besides it's all down to personal preference and what games your prefer.

I agree with him. The Wii, as judging from experience with my own, is crap. My PS3, however, is awesome. For me at least, it's easy to decide which is more fun.

A professional should be representing his company. I wouldn't complain about a reviewer or analyst giving there opinion. However I believe that a representative of one of the console makers saying something to that effect is just a blatant assault on another company. That is not the type of thing I condone. But it seems the rest of you do.

However you seem to have a problem with my opinion that what your in your opinion is an merely an opinion is more of a attack on another company, which (in my opinion) is wrong. But I will give you the benefit of the doubt that you have a reason for attacking my opinion. Although I would request that you inform me why you feel it okay to attack my opinion on what we are not in agreement of being strictly another's opinion when you are the ones defending the right for everyone to have opinions.

        I hope that made sense.

This article is doing the same crap black doom tried to do.

Hey black doom, ever see one of those Apple vs PC guy commercials? Ever hear a keynote from Steve Jobs? How about a cell phone commercial talking shit about oppositional carriers? See a trend? Its called competitive business and its all normal. The business world is a harsh place, but this is how it works. There's nothing wrong with what he said. He is more or less promoting his product, rather than attacking the Wii. Has Reggie Fils-Aime not 'attacked' the 360 and PS3 on several occasions? I can't believe how much attention this topic is getting. Its nothing at all to get excited about.
