According to a report in the Village Voice, today's videogames are reliant on software of years gone by, even the likes of ambitious and inventice offerings such as Mass Effect and Super Mario Galaxy.

While there is no denying the ever-evolving nature of the videogame industry, modern day software releases are still reliant on gameplay inspiration provided by retro offerings from years gone by.

    Wouldn't deny it. Nintendo makes a lot of their money off of Mario games, and those have been around for quite some time.

    A lot of times I have noticed that games are very similar to older games I have played.
